Police open fire in Kathmandu

One person was injured when police opened fire on a group of protestors shouting slogans against the new King, Gyanendra and Prime Minister G P Koirala.

The firing occurred during the coronation of King Gyanendra.

Several rounds of teargas were also fired. There have been sporadic demonstrations all over Kathmandu since Saturday when the news of the killing of King Birendra and his family broke. And at most of the places, the protestors have been shouting slogans against the new king, his son Paras, G P Koirala and others.

Many people believe that the new king and his son are part of a conspiracy in eliminating King Birendra and his family.
