Pak chief justice takes over as acting president

With Pakistan President General Parvez Musharraf in New Delhi on a three-day state visit, Chief Justice of Supreme Court Justice Irshad Hasan Khan has been sworn in as the acting president.

Justice Hasan Khan was administered oath of office by the senior most judge of the Pakistan Supreme Court, Justice Abdur Rehman Khan, who in turn took over as the acting chief justice.

The ceremony held in Islamabad after General Musharraf left for New Delhi was attended by judges of the supreme court, members of the cabinet and other senior government officials.
