Musharraf's escort car meets with accident

President Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan escaped being involved in an accident when a private car crashed into his convoy, injuring one of his bodyguards and the driver of an escort vehicle.

The car smashed into the vehicle on Monday near the entrance gate of Islamabad international airport, a media report quoted the police as saying.

The general escaped unhurt. But the driver of the escort car as well as one of the general's gunmen sustained injuries and their car was damaged, the report said.

The accident caused panic among security officials who immediately cleared the road and impounded the car and arrested its driver.
