India proposes dialogue on
security concepts

This was conveyed by Foreign Secretary Chokila Iyer when Pakistan High Commissioner Ashraf Jehangir Qazi called on her.

As part of measures to build confidence and trust, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had on July six instructed that such a dialogue be proposed immediately to Islamabad.

The Prime Minister had also said that non-official exchanges of think tanks, writers, intellectuals and others be encouraged.
