CBI finishes interrogation of S P Hinduja

The Central Bureau of Investigation's special team investigating the Rs 640 million Bofors pay-off case Tuesday finished the interrogation of Srichand Hinduja and has called his brother Prakashchand for interrogation on Wednesday at 10.30 am.

After the special court of Ajit Bharihoke directed the CBI to continue with the investigation and report to the court on January 30, the CBI interrogated S P Hinduja for the fourth consecutive day. The interrogation lasted for little over three hours.

S M Khan, the CBI spokesman, however, refused to confirm if the agency had finished with the questioning of S P Hinduja. "For the time being we have finished with him. But this does not mean that he may not be called again. It depends upon what the others tell us. If required he could be called again," Khan said.

S P Hinduja was interrogated for more then 15 hours in four different sessions. The other two brothers are yet to be questioned.

All through the questioning S P Hinduja has been telling the media that they were cooperating with the CBI and telling them whatever was being asked.

The Hinduja brothers, who presented themselves before Ajit Bharihoke on January 19, are currently on bail. They executed personal bonds of Rs 200,000 each and a surety of the like amount.
