Security in CBI court beefed up for Hindujas' appearance

Onkar Singh in New Delhi

Hours before the three Hinduja brothers are scheduled to appear, the special CBI court of judge Ajit Bharihoke has been virtually turned into a fortress.

Gopichand, Srichand and Prakash Hinduja arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday pursuant to the court's summons to them, seeking their appearance before it in the Rs 64-crore Bofors kickbacks case.

Although the brothers are slated to turn up only at 12.30 pm, the media has descended on the court in full strength. Security too has been beefed up to an unprecedented scale, with the entire area around the building sanitised.

The hearing into the case is being held in an open court.
