Hindujas don't show up at media meet

It was supposed to be the media event like none other. The three Hinduja brothers, who had earlier in the day been granted conditional bail by Special CBI judge Ajit Bharihoke, were slated to address a press conference on Friday evening, and the media turned up in full strength.

But the brothers failed to turn up at the venue, Intercontinental Hotel, and the media was informed that they had been advised by their legal counsel not to address the press as the matter was sub judice.

Initially, Perfect Relations, the public relations firm that was organising the event said the brothers' lawyers would instead address the media.

However, when the legal team too did not turn up, it came out with the explanation that they too had stayed away for the same reason.

Hundreds of media persons who had turned up were in a sullen mood, since they had turned up well before time despite the change in venue.

The media meet was earlier scheduled to be held at the Taj Mansingh.

The Hinduja brothers are expected to appear before Judge Ajit Bharihoke on Saturday at 1000 hours (IST) when their lawyers will take up the matter regarding court permission for their visit to the United States of America on business.
