NC leader's son shot dead

Militants shot dead the son of a ruling National Conference leader and injured his driver, while three foreign militants were killed in north Kashmir on Sunday night.

Official sources told UNI that the militants shot dead Fayaz Ahmad, son of NC block president Gulam Rasool, at Bandipoora.

The driver of Fayaz was injured in the attack.

Sources said militants attacked a joint patrol party of the Special Operation Group of the Jammu and Kashmir police and security forces at Binner, seven km from Baramulla, with automatic weapons on Sunday evening. The security forces returned the fire and three foreign militants were killed and three personnel were injured. Some arms and ammunition were recovered from the site.
