Justice Sharma to probe Haigam firing

Justice O P Sharma of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court will conduct a probe into the firing by security forces on a procession at Haigam in Baramulla district on February 15, a government notification said on Tuesday.

The state government asked the one-man commission to find out the causes and circumstances, which led to the firing in which seven people were killed and submit its report within two months.

It shall also probe whether the firing by the forces on the crowd was justified or not and fix responsibility for using excessive force, if any, the notification said.
