Moscow has firmly told Washington to take care of Pakistani nuclear arsenal as the present Indo-Pak stand-off is the logical consequence of the US-led operation in Afghanistan, a senior Duma official said.
We have strongly conveyed to the US officials that it was purely Washington's responsibility to see that nothing untoward happens to the Pakistani nuclear stockpile, chief of the Duma's Foreign Affairs Committee Dmitry Rogozin said on Ekho Moskvy radio on Wednesday.
According to Rogozin the anti-terror operation in Afghanistan has set the extremist forces inside Pakistan into motion and many Pakistani citizens don't support Musharraf government for co-operating with the United States.
In this situation many in the Pakistani army were eager to create a situation to let the wrath against Musharraf and his military leadership out.
