Jaish-e-Mohammad threatens 'shocking attacks' in major Indian cities

Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), which has been blamed for the attack on Parliament, has denied its involvement in the incident but threatened to carry out 'shocking attacks' in major Indian cities to create a situation where the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party will lose power.

In a statement issued to a Srinagar newspaper on Thursday after a meeting chaired by the commander-in-chief of the outfit Abu Hijrat, it denied any involvement in the December 13 attack.

"We will carry out shocking attacks in major India cities to ensure that the BJP loses power," the statement said.

"The attacks will create history," said the statement signed by Abu Hamza, spokesman of the outfit.

The spokesman threatened that JeM would intensify its activities across Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days.

"We will attack Indian para-military and military camps with more vigour and inflict maximum casualties. We possess sophisticated weapons and they would be used against Indian forces," the spokesman claimed.
