Security tightened in Mumbai

Security in the metropolis has been tightened and police presence at entry and exit points intensified following reports of firing and explosions inside the Parliament precincts on Thursday morning," Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) V N Deshmukh said.

"Those who have some vital information should pass it on to the police," he added.

A general alert has been sounded and patrolling throughout the city intensified to prevent any untoward incident, he said.

All the reserve forces in the city have been alerted, he said.
