Petrol, LPG price hike announced

Petroleum Minister Ram Naik, on Friday night, announced a hike in the prices of petroleum products at a press conference in New Delhi.

While the price of petrol has been increased by about Rs 2.30, the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas will go up by about Rs 36 in the metros.

The price of petrol in the metros will increase by: Delhi: Rs 2.30 per litre Bombay: Rs 2.35 per litre Madras: Rs 2.35 per litre Calcutta: Rs 2.70 per litre

The price of LPG will go up by: Delhi: Rs 36.11 per cylinder Bombay: Rs 36.20 per cylinder Madras: Rs 36.20 per cylinder Calcutta: Rs 39.25 per cylinder.

Naik said the prices would come into effect from midnight on Friday.
