High Court rejects Nadeem's plea

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Bombay high court Monday rejected a petition filed by music director Nadeem Akhtar Saifee, a prime accused in the sensational Gulshan Kumar murder case, urging the court to allow his lawyers to cross-examine accused-turned approver Mohammad Ali Hussein Shaikh.

Additional sessions judge Hemant Deshpande had recently rejected the application of Nadeem's lawyer praying that the court allows them examine the approver, who has written about the involvement of all alleged accused in the case.

While rejecting the application, Justice Vishnu Sahay said that he was fully satisfied with the lower court's order and observed that law does not not permit such examination. Nadeem is in the United Kingdom and his extradiction has been sought.
