Gopal returns to Madras with another tape

Journalist-emissary R R Gopal returned to Madras on Thursday after meeting Veerappan in the jungles. He had gone to negotiate the release of Dr Rajakumar and three others held hostage by the brigand.

Gopal has got an audio cassette and a message from Veerappan. He is meeting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to discuss the outcome of his discussions with Veerappan.

It was second time that Gopal had gone to meet Veerappan since the hostage crisis began on July 30.
