Nine people, critically injured in the car bomb blast in Srinagar, were brought to New Delhi on Friday by an Indian Air Force plane for specialised treatment.

They were straightway taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Safdarjung Hospital. Eight were admitted to the Safdarjung Hospital and one to the AIIMS.

The injured include a superintendent of police, a station house officer, a police constable, a Central Reserve Police Force jawan and an employee of a private television channel.

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare C P Thakur and a team of doctors from the AIIMS and ENT specialists from the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital received them at the Palam airport, an official release said.
