ATLANTA

Kiran Deshpande, managing director and CEO of Mahindra British Telecom, offers an overview of the expansion of the company's services in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America at a roundtable discussion on October 18.

The roundtable, which is chaired by Atlanta attorney Ken Cutshaw and sponsored by GlobalFax, will be held from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at the World Trade Center in downtown Atlanta.

Since joining MBT in 1996 as CEO, Deshpande has overseen the growth of the company's annual revenues to more than $ 50 million. MBT has also emerged as BT's largest information technology solutions provider. Under Deshpande, the company's offshore software engineering output has risen from 25 person years to 409 person years, a common way in the IT business of describing the amount of time taken for a software project.

MBT opened its Atlanta office in 1998 as its headquarters for the East Coast. In slightly more than a year of operations, the Atlanta office has taken on more than a half dozen projects including software projects for customer relationships, mortgage financing, inventory management and Web enabling.

MBT has a formal research partnership with the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

For more information contact, Jagdish Mitra, (770) 821-5482 or by E-mail at mailto:jmitra@mcimail.com

To register for the roundtable, which is open to the public free of charge, call (404) 377-7710 or send an E-mail to mailto:gfax@globalatlanta.com

NetSAP Plans Slew of Activities in Missouri

ST LOUIS, MS

NetSAP, an organization of South Asian professionals, will take part in the October 16, 17 International Folkfest.

This event is sponsored by the International Institute of St. Louis, whose representatives noticed NetSAP's strong cultural display at the Festival of Nations last month.

On October 2, from 9 am to 1 pm, NetSAP will be at the American Diabetes Association Fundraising Walk. Team NetSAP will have at least five members who will complete a 3-mile walk near the Maryville University Library in West County.

On October 11, from 6 pm to 9 pm, NetSAP members will join Mission Impossible III, a project to help Operation Food Search load boxes of food for distribution to homeless shelters, food pantries, and soup kitchens throughout Eastern Missouri and Southwestern Illinois.

In another development, NetSAP is developing an alliance with St Louis Cares (a United Way organization that will connect NetSAP with regular short-term projects to help the needy and improve the community).

It is also connecting with the Microenterprise Program at the International Institute of St Louis (in which volunteer professionals contribute their knowledge/experience to help refugees start businesses in the St Louis area).

Other activities planned include the establishment of a public speaking club, and creation of a career-counseling seminar.

For participating in the Folkfest and other activities, contact: Suresh Vedantham (367-2997) or Padma Tumuluri (534-6349) for details.
