Military rulers release Pakistan ministers

E-Mail this report to a friend

A majority of the Pakistani federal ministers, who were put under house arrest after the bloodless army coup in Pakistan on October 12, have been released by the military government.

However, the fate of the former foreign minister Sartaj Aziz was not known.

Army jawans have been withdrawn from the houses of several former ministers and telephone facilities have been restored to them. Restrictions on their movements have also been lifted.

Immediately after their release, several ministers left the capital for their home towns.
