Cabinet panel discusses Kargil

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has held informal consultations with members of the Cabinet Committee on Security on the latest developments in Kargil.

The one-hour meeting, which began at 2200 hrs at the prime minister's house on Friday, was attended by Defence Minister George Fernandes, Home Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani, Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha and External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh.

National Security Advisor Brajesh Mishra and Foreign Secretary K Raghunath also attended the meeting.

The prime minister had cut short his visit to Bihar and arrived in New Delhi on Friday evening to chair the meeting. He was to spend the night at Patna.
