IAF targets main intruder camp

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Indian Air Force today successfully targeted the main camp of the Pakistani infiltrators at the Batalik sector even as a decisive hand-to-hand battle raged between the Indian troops and the intruders in the strategically important Tiger hill area.

The Pakistani troops fired artillery and mortar shells from across the border targeting the Turtuk police station. The Turtuk police had recently arrested 22 Pakistani-trained local militants and recovered a huge cache of sophisticated arms and ammunition.

Official sources said that the IAF today targeted the main camp of the intruders in the Batalik sector by bombarding the entire area.

Sources said the air strikes were very effective and the enemy suffered heavy losses. The camp was 'totally destroyed'.

They said the camp was important for intruders since all directions were being issued to them from there.

However details of the intruders killed were not immediately available, the sources said.
