Voice of Russia exposes Pak hypocrisy

E-Mail this report to a friend

Pakistan is asking the world to exert pressure on India for resolving the issues between the two countries, but ''is itself engaged in creating a Kosovo-like situation in the Kashmir valley,'' state-run radio Voice of Russia said while lauding India's assurance that it was not going to attack Pakistan.

The official commentary also welcomed the Beijing dialogue between Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh and his Chinese counterpart.

Voice of Russia expressed grave concern on the continuing conflict in Kargil which, it said, had been caused by large-scale intrusion of Pakistan-assisted mercenaries into the Kashmir valley.

The radio service also hinted that the situation in the valley might come up for discussion at the G-8 summit meeting beginning at Cologne tomorrow. It blamed Islamabad for generating the present dispute regarding the Line of Control.
