Indian Independence Day Events in Windy City

CHICAGO - Two major events will mark the anniversary of India's Independence Day here. Mayor Richard M Daley will lead a parade on August 7 noon starting at the Mahatma Gandhi Marg, a part of the Devon Avenue. The parade is being organized by Federation of Indian Associations.

On August 8 a cultural pageant and dinner program will be held at 5 pm at the Crown Jewel Banquets, 1730 S. Elmhurst Road, Des Plaines.
