Operation Vijay will continue: Advani

E-Mail this report to a friend

India will not fall prey to the evil designs of Pakistan and will continue with the armed operations till the last intruder was ousted, Home Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani reiterated in New Delhi today.

''We will not allow any foreign mercenary to remain on our soil and army operations have to be continued to force out the intruders from Kashmir,'' Advani said while addressing a gathering on the occasion of the birth anniversary celebrations of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, founder president of the erstwhile Jan Sangh.

He said it was incorrect to say that the Indian Army operations have almost come to an end after retrieving Tiger Hill. The conflict does not end with this and the sentiments echoed by the citizens of the country have to be respected at all costs, he said.

The remarks of the home minister assume considerable significance in the backdrop of talks between Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief and US President Bill Clinton in Washington yesterday.
