Indian Music and Dance Fest at Pittsburgh

Srishti, in association with Mayur at Carnegie Mellon University, presents a two-day festival of dance and music from India on September 10 and 11 at Rangos Hall, CMU.

Sreyashi Dey, an Odissi dancer, is the artistic director of Srishti, an institution based in Pittsburgh, dedicated to teaching and research on Odissi and other creative explorations. The festival includes an Odissi performance by Sreyashi, a classical Hindustani vocal concert, a Carnatic violin-flute jugalbandi, a dance theater presentation based on Kalidasa's Meghdutam and a new collaborative choreographic work by Sreyashi, with Sylvia Tamasuza (performer from Uganda, Africa) and Andrea Read (poet from New York).
