The much-awaited bus service between New Delhi and Lahore will start in the first week of February, Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director Imtiaz Syed has said.

Syed, who arrived at the head of the Pakistani delegation on a 'dry run', was talking to reporters after his meeting with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

The delegates were all praise for the Indian hospitality, especially the food served en route.

Friday night, the delegates, accompanied by Pakistan High Commissioner to India Ashraf Jehangir Qazi, joined the prime minister's iftaar party at Hyderabad house.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi, former finance minister Manmohan Singh, several other Opposition leaders, Cabinet ministers, top diplomats and bureaucrats were among those present.
