Admiral Bhagwat was sacked in view of 'security considerations'

Union Defence Minister George Fernandes has said navy chief Admiral Vishnu Bhagwat was sacked in view of ''security considerations''.

In an interview to a television channel, the minister said the admiral had not been feeding correct information to the government about the situation with regard to the naval force.

Fernandes was categorical that the removal of Admiral Bhagwat will have no effect on the morale of the armed forces.
