Police kill 3 Naxalites in Andhra Pradesh

Three Naxalites of the banned People's War Group were killed in an encounter with the police, while another surrendered at Lavvalla village in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh today.

Police said a special police party combing the area came across a group of militants, belonging to the Chandra Pulla Reddy Dalam, holding a meeting. On seeing the police, the extremists fired at them. The police returned the fire, killing three Naxalites.

While one militant surrendered to the police, another escaped.

An AK-47 rifle, two 8 mm pistols and one kit bag were recovered from the spot.
