Holy cow, it's beef!

Mukesh Rai is a devout Hindu. He lives in Los Angeles.

Very recently, he dialled up Taco Bell, a chain of Mexican restaurants in the city, and asked for a bean burrito. When the order came, Rai took a bite... and immediately decided to sue the supplier.

For, you see, the bean burrito was not a bean burrito. It was a beef burrito!

The beef-bean mix-up, it would appear, occurred because of a simple communication gap. But the enraged Hindu is not ready to leave things at that -- he proposes to seek damages for emotional distress, medical expenses and loss of wages.

According to Rai, the single bite he took obliges him to travel to India next month and purify himself in the holy Ganga.

Besides the sacrilege, what really got Rai's goat was Taco Bell's refusal to refund his money.

"You ate meat," he was reportedly told. "So what's the big deal?"
