Coastal Andhra shivers under cold nights

Cold wave conditions prevailed in Jammu and Kashmir and in parts of Orissa, Bihar, Haryana, Punjab, southwest Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, north central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha and Telangana.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and in the remaining parts of central Maharashtra, and were below normal in parts of the plains of Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh and interior Karnataka.

They were appreciably above normal in parts of Himachal Pradesh and northwest Rajasthan, and were above normal in parts of coastal and south interior Karnataka.

They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat from where the data was sparse.

Rain or thundershowers occurred at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Tamil Nadu. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.
