Naxalites torch Jamia Osmania railway station in Hyderabad

Naxalites of the outlawed People's War Group blasted a railway station in Srikakulam district and set fire to another in Hyderabad in separate incidents in Andhra Pradesh since late last night.

The police said today that a group of Naxalites torched the Jamia Osmania Railway station in Hyderabad early today and left behind pamphlets which said their action was in protest against fake encounters in the state.

In an incident late last night, about 15 to 20 Naxalites went to the Baruva railway station in Srikakulam district and blasted it in retaliation to last week's encounter in Vizianagaram district.

The station master's room and office records were destroyed, the police said.
