Twinkle, twinkle, superstar,
How I wonder what you are,
On World Wide Web so high,
Like a URL in the sky
Stardom is as much a product of talent as it is of media savvy. No wonder, movie launches these days are preceded by promotional blitzkriegs and frenzied media-buying. So, can the launch of a star site be any different. Certainly not. The noon of November 14 will bring SRK's World (www.shahrukhkhan.com ) to the desktops of his zillion fans.

Backed by Kishore Lulla, Bharat Shah and Juhi Chawla, the site has already notched up 5000 registrations, thanks to big-prize contests, games, teaser campaigns -- and of course the star attraction.

The site aims to be a portal for those smitten by the movie bug: Sneak previews, reviews, animation, audio-video clips, downloads, auctions of memorabilia... For those looking beyond movies, there are exhaustive travel, lifestyle and ecards sections. The centrepiece will be the Star Dromes, which will host stuff like personal information, pictures, updates, movie news, interviews and more of film stars. While the Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla dromes are already up, actors like Anil Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor have signed up for a niche of their own on the Internet.
