The two debutant stars of the year's most eagerly awaited film Saawariya, Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, were finally unveiled by director Sanjay Leela Bhansali [Images] at the film's music release at Mumbai's JW Marriott hotel on Saturday night.
The two pedigreed stars -- Ranbir is son of Rishi Kapoor [Images] and Neetu Singh and, more importantly, grandson of showman Raj Kapoor, while Sonam is Anil Kapoor [Images] and Sunita's daughter -- have been meticulously kept under wraps by the acclaimed director, for worry that media adulation may affect their innocence which he wanted to capture in his celluloid love story.
Apart from the two new actors, Saawariya also has performances by Bhansali favourites Salman Khan [Images] (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam) and Rani Mukherji (Black). While Salman escorted Sonam to the dais on Saturday, Rani did the honours with Ranbir.
Proud parents Rishi and Neetu were present at the music launch, as was Anil and Sunita Kapoor. The first family of Hindi films was in full attendance, in the personae of Krishna Raj Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and Babita.
Saawariya's music is by Monty, who did the background score for Devdas and Black.
Saawariya is slated for a Diwali release, November 9, and will go head-on with the other blockbuster, Farah Khan's [Images] Om Shanti Om starring Shah Rukh Khan [Images], releasing on that day.
