What is it about women-oriented movies? Why do they -- more often than not, that is -- end up as box-office duds?

Though there are exceptions like Mother India [ Images ], Damini, Mrityudand and Lajja, they are far and few.
And now with Madhuri Dixit's [ Images ] Aaja Nachle releasing this Friday, we thought it is the right time to ask you, dear reader, if Bollywood films always need a hero to do well?
