Emraan Hashmi beats Ash hollow

Aishwarya Rai's Mistress Of Spices could not salvage itself at the box office in India or abroad.

Ram Gopal Varma's Darna Zaroori Hai might be appreciated for being different, but the horror film seemed to scare off audiences from theatres.

Mahesh Bhatt's production Gangster was the only film last week to open well, thanks mostly to rave reviews and Emraan Hashmi.

Note: Films are ranked according to their release dates.
