Amisha Patel has issued a public statement saying her parents do not hold a power of attorney on her behalf, and that anyone dealing with them would be doing so at his/her own risk.
The actress issued the notice in a newspaper on February 13 through her lawyer, Vibhav Krishna of Messrs Juris Consillis, saying she had not given any power of attorney, authority or authorisation to her father Amit Patel, mother Asha or brother Ashmit, either singularly or jointly.
She claimed if any such document of authority shown by her family to members of the public was false, bogus, fabricated and stands cancelled, terminated and withdrawn.
Earlier, the actress had served a legal notice on her parents and brother, asking them to hand over her money 'retained by them illegally and unlawfully.' In the legal notice, Amisha alleged that despite her repeated requests, they did not return her money.
For the last couple of years, the relationship between the actress and her family had turned sour over this issue, sources close to the actress said.
