Verdict on The Rising is unclear

This one is a bit of a mystery.

The year's most anticipated film Mangal Pandey released on Friday with much fanfare, announcing Aamir Khan's return to the big screen after four years.

While no one is surprised with the film's massive opening day, trade reports vary in terms of ticket sales on consecutive days. And when we get reports from across the metros saying tickets are readily available for current shows of the film, including on a national holiday like August 15, it seems like Ketan Mehta's mammoth historical epic is having trouble taking off.

For now, let's wait before we pronounce judgement.
