BeyonceIt looks as if Beyoncé Knowles may have to put off being 'Bootylicious' for at least a couple of weeks.

The singer recently tore her right hamstring, at the back of the knee, while rehearsing dance moves with her group Destiny's Child. The practice sessions in Los Angeles were for an upcoming television special.

Beyoncé was treated by a private sports injury specialist and is able to walk, but has been advised to avoid dancing and strenuous physical activity for at least a week.

Destiny's Child was formed in Texas in 1990, when Beyoncé and LaTavia Roberson were just nine years old. The group went on to become one of the most popular female R&B groups of the late 90s, despite many upheavals and public feuds in the media.

Speaking about the injury, a Columbia Records spokeswoman said Beyoncé 'overdid it.'

Luckily, given her level of fitness, the record label expects her to heal soon. The injury will push promotions for the group's new album, Destiny Fulfilled back a bit. It is scheduled to hit record stores by November 16.
