The lady famed for everything, except her tennis exploits, has now apparently gone the Britney Spears way. US Weekly magazine reports that Anna Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias were married in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, a few weeks ago. The magazine quoted Kournikova as happily saying, "Everything is awesome. We are married!", at a charity tennis event in Florida on Sunday.
Both publicists to the stars, however, are being non-committal! Iglesias' representative Stacy Boniello had no comment, while Anna's publicist Ivy Mollenkamp said, "We never comment on her personal life."
Court officials responsible for registering weddings in Puerto Vallarta and neighbouring Nuevo Vallarta claimed to have no record of such a wedding. However, the stars could have had a religious ceremony, which would not be legally recognised in Mexico.
23-year-old tennis pro Kournikova has had her share of wedding drama before. Several reports over the past few months have been claiming that she and Iglesias, 29, were already married. And she was briefly married to Russian hockey played Sergei Fedorov in 2001, but chose to deny it at the time.
