Dharmendra and Hema met for the first time on the sets of Tum Haseen Main Jawan. They went on to work together in 28 films. Witness their chemistry in films like Pratigya, Naya Zamana, Raja Jani, Jugnu and Sholay.

Apparently, while filming Sholay, Garam Dharam would pay technicians Rs 100 to make mistakes, which would result in retakes, so that he could hug Hema more often. Even though Jeetendra and Sanjeev Kumar proposed marriage to Hema, it was married man Dharmendra who won her over.

The duo got married in 1980. Hema got away without any controversy owing to her upright and regal aura.
