Shah Rukh Khan has proved time and again that he is truly king of the box-office. His last two releases, Devdas and Chalte Chalte, topped the charts. His latest film, Kal Ho Naa Ho, co-starring Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta, hits the screens on November 27. A day after Eid celebrations, Khan talks about the film.

Tell us about your role in KHNH.

I play Aman. He is very rude, loud and nosy. But he's also very likeable. His take on life is that one doesn't know if tomorrow will come, so live life to the fullest now. Live for the moment, do whatever makes you happy because tomorrow may not come.

I have worked with Nikhil [Advani] in Kuch Kuch Hota Kai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. I have known him since Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa in 1993. When I was working with Aditya Chopra and Karan, he would set up the shots. Sometimes, we would discuss how to go about the shots and the nitty gritties of other characters. So working with him in KHNH wasn't a new experience.

His energy is wonderful. He got the chance to direct for a big production company with big stars. That's a lot of responsibility, and I think he will live up to it. Though Karan wrote the film, Nikhil executed it well.
