Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz wave out to fans while leaving Tokyo airport. The duo was in Japan to attend the premiere of Cruise's new film, The Last Samurai.

Directed by Edward Zwick who won the Best Film Oscar for Shakespeare In Love, The Last Samurai has Cruise playing US military officer Nathan Algren in 19th century Japan. He is appointed by the Japanese Emperor to train his troops to eventually eliminate the enduring samurais.

The more Algren learns about the samurais, the more enamoured he is by their restrained lifestyle.
