This year has seen as many as 22 new directors in the Hindi film industry!

Most of the films did not do well, but the directors did make a mark. Take Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi's Pinjar. Or Robby Grewal's Samay.

Some other films presented by debutant directors were, Darna Mana Hai (Prawaal Raman), Chupke Se (Shona Urvashi), Rules - Pyaar Ka Superhit Formula (Parvati Balagopalan), 88 Antop Hill (Kushan Nandy), Nayee Padosan (B H Tharunkumar), Jajantaram Mamantaram (Soumitra Ranade), Haasil (Tigmanshu Dhulia) and Pran Jaaye Par Shaan Na Jaaye (Sanjay Jha).

Last week saw Shashanka Ghosh's Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II.
