Master And Commander is not for those who want instant gratification and certainly not for those with a weak stomach. The film, nevertheless, offers a spectacular sea drama filled with intense psychology. Inspired by the novels of Patrick O'Brian, the drama at times burdened by too many details and looks like a very expensive National Geographic documentary preoccupied with scenery and furious Nature.
