Actress and gourmet food goddess Madhur Jaffrey is being tipped to star in the Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Bombay Deams.
London show business sources say 70 year old Jaffery is poised to sign a three month deal when the show opens in the US next year. She is being cast as the bitchy columnist Kitty.
Jaffrey, who has just published her latest book, the Ultimate Curry Bible, has introduced millions in the UK and the US to the joys of Indian cooking.

She has also managed to retain her acting career, modestly decsribing herself as a "trained actress and an accidental cook."
The £4.5 million production of Bombay Dreams has been a huge success in the UK, making a profit for producer Lloyd Webber only eight months after it opened.
While Jaffrey is out celebrating her offer of a part in the show, her daughter Sakina appears to have missed out on the musical.
After toying with the idea of getting her to take the role of Rani the temptress, producers decided to offer the role to Ayesha Dharker who plays Rani in the original Rani cast.
Abandoning Sakina means mother and daughter have lost the chance of appearing together in the same show. The last time they managed this feat was was in the 1999 Ismail Merchant drama Cotton Mary.
