Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan seems to have made it his duty to give the industry at least one blockbuster a year. He did not disappoint in 2003. Karan Johar's production Kal Ho Naa Ho was declared a blockbuster within days of its release.

His home production Chalte Chalte, costarring Rani Mukerji, also struck the right chord with the masses. But the actor went through a lot of health problems, including a spinal surgery, in February. After the surgery, which took place in London's exclusive Wellington Hospital, the actor announced a break from films to recuperate.

Of course, he could not be chained too long. Soon, he was back under the arclight. Though SRK plans to cut down on his assignments, he already has Ashutosh Gowariker's Swades, Farah Khan's Main Hoon Na and Yash Chopra's untitled venture on hand.
