He is known as the bad boy of the film industry. But there is no denying Salman Khan's star power. The actor has a huge fan following. In the second of our series on Best Actors, we profile Salman Khan. Earlier, readers had voted for Hrithik Roshan as 2003's Best Actor.
Maine Pyaar Kiya

Costar: Bhagyashree
Director: Sooraj R Barjatya
Son of famous scriptwriter Salim Khan, it was Salman’s second film Maine Pyar Kiya that put him on the map (his debut was J K Bihari’s Biwi Ho To Aisi).

Maine Pyar Kiya was a film full of newcomers. It was Sooraj Barjatya’s first film as director and Bhagyashree’s first as actress. Though Bhagyashree’s career faltered, this blockbuster did wonders for Salman and Sooraj’s careers.

The film, which released the year after Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, made Salman the latest heartthrob and Aamir Khan his closest rival.
