Bollywood star Salman Khan has lodged a complaint with the anti-extortion cell of the crime branch of the Mumbai police.
According to police sources, Khan received a call from a Chhota Rajan aide demanding Rs 30 million [approximately US $618,000].
Khan's home production Maine Dil Tujhko Diya is scheduled for release on August 30. The film, directed by younger brother Sohail Khan, has Sohail making his debut as an actor opposite newcomer Sameera Reddy.
Apparently, Sohail Khan had earlier received a call from Ejaz Lakdawala, another member of Chhota Rajan's gang, demanding 'goodwill money' for his film. Sohail Khan had also approached the crime branch in this regard.
