ArcelorMittal has appointed Vijay Bhatnagar as the new Chief Executive Officer for its India operations.
Bhatnagar, who is also appointed as the Executive Vice President, will replace the current CEO Sanak Mishra.
In a statement, the steelmaker said Bhatnagar would remain a member of the management committee.
Robrecht Himpe, who is the CEO Flat Europe and Amaud Poupart-Lafarge (Africa and CIS) are the new members of the management committee.
Further, Andre van den Bossche and Narendra Chaudhary would be retiring from the committee in due course. Bossche is in charge of Global Trade Policy, Steel Contact Groups, Mandates and Associations while Chaudhary is the CEO Africa and CIS.
According to the statement, Bossche would continue to serve as a consultant to the CEO and Poupart Lafarge would assume the responsibilities of Chaudhary upon his retirement.
The new management appointments follows changes made to the Group Management Board of the company announced on April 21. Members of the GMB also sit on the management committee.
In addition, Bhikam Agarwal has been appointed as the executive vice president and head of finance.
