Overall 62,336 units were sold in April, including 2,797 units of exports, the company said in a statement.
The sales growth was on the back of robust sales in the A2 segment comprising Alto [ Images ], Wagon R, Zen Estillo [ Images ] and Swift [ Images ], which together clocked 43,121 units as against 33,878 units in April last year, up 97.1 per cent.
During the month, the company's once bread and butter brand M800 saw a decline of 29.5 per cent at 4,458 units as against 6,324 units in April last year.
The A3 segment, comprising SX4 [ Images ] and Dzire [ Images ] sold a total of 4,187 units, as against 2,124 units in the same month last year, up 22.8 per cent.
MSI said exports registered a growth of 64.5 per cent during the month at 2,797 units as against 1,700 units in April last year.
