Intel, the world's largest chip maker, deferred on Wednesday its decision to make India its chip-manufacturing destination as the government was slow to announce the semiconductor policy.

"We were in serious discussion for chip manufacturing in India but the government was a bit slow on semiconductor manufacturing proposals," Intel Chairman Craig Barrett, who is on his ninth visit to India, said in New Delhi.

Do you think it spells a big loss for India's IT sector? Do you think Indian government should not have let such an opportunity slip out its hands.
